Flintstone Flop

Here's a kaveman kwickie I did a few years back to promote a garage rock DJ night. I think this was taking place in Ontario somewhere but I don't have a version of this with the text added and the details on the whole thing have gotten a little murky in my scrambled cranium. Anyway this was at the same time that I was doing the Back From The Cave poster series and I must admit that I was actually getting kinda sick of drawing cavemen by the time I did this one. I feel better now though. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Way Down South

Here's the cover for Volume 1 of the South American Teenage Garage Punk series of 7" comps, issued on Spanish label Butterfly Records back in 2003. Bands on this one were The Tandooris, Los Peyotes, Elio & Thee Horribles and Los Supersonicos, all playing various styles of trashy '60s garage and surf music. It was a limited edition of 500 copies. Pandemonium

This one was drawn back in 1993 as a logo for my French pal Phillipe's aggro/noise/punk label Pandemonium Records. The next year he used it as the cover for a comp CD of French bands which you can see below. The coloring and layout for the CD art was credited to "Sugar & Spice" (whoever that may be). Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Teenage Lifestyle

This one was used as the tray card art for Rocket To You!, the 1998 debut CD by Italian pop-punkers The Manges. They often had a '50s influence on their sleeve art and posters (although not in their straight up Ramones-inspired music), so I thought this portrait of a teenage rock'n'roll fan from that era would be appropriate for their album art. A photo of the band was added to the teevee screen in the printed version. The Manges are still rockin' after all these years so check 'em out. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Monkey Time

Here's a weird one that I drew way back in 1996 for crazed French garage/psych combo The Beach Bitches. This was the front cover of their 10" LP on Dig! Records, a limited edition of only 300 copies. The original art for this one is long gone and the printing on the record sleeve itself is not that great so I scanned this for you from a good quality photocopy that I dug outta my files. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

It's Trash!

Just finished this T-shirt/poster design for Ottawa blues/punk trio The Middens. My old buddy Patrick is rockin' the bass in this greasy new combo. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Saucer Men

Here's another sample from the batch of illustrations I did for Flying Saucer Rock'n'Roll, the forthcoming volume of collected interviews from the swingin' pages of Roctober magazine. This one will accompany the interview with wigged-out '70s glam rock weirdos Zolar X! Latest word is that the book will be hitting the streets sometime next year. More info when I hear any news. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Deluxe 66

Just finished this T-shirt design for hard rawkin' Norwegian combo Deluxe 66. I think they are also gonna make some buttons with this design on 'em. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Vinyl Fetish

To think they told me that I was wasting my time spending so much of my life scrounging around in used record stores. All that real-life experience came in very handy when I got the call to do this poster for my friend Mark's record convention out in Calgary. Plans are for me to do another one of these for his next series of conventions in 1011. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Sick, Sick, Sick

Here's the cover and tray card art for the debut CD by Swedish punks The Sick. The band was a punk rock side project for members of a stoner rock band that I don't recall the name of. Molten Universe Records put this CD out way back in 2001. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Ugly Thing

Another exercise in Wolvertonesque weirdness, this one was dubbed the "mutant baloney" drawing by a friend of mine years ago so have a nice thick slice. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

It's A Gas!

I drew this way back in the early '90s, adapting the drawing from a photo in an old magazine ad depicting a sufferer of chronic gas pains. My idea was to have this face pop up in various drawings and comic strips, sort of like how Mad used to use Alfred E. Newman. I lost interest in the whole idea pretty quickly but if you look closely you can see him here and there in issues of Rockin' Bones. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Jungle Rock

Just finished this sleeve for the first volume of Brazilian Nuggets, a planned 3 LP series of ultra-obscure '60s rock'n'roll from the unexplored wilds of Brazil. Groovie Records outta Portugal is gonna put these out in limited editions of 500 copies each so you'll have to act fast if you wanna get 'em. I'm a big fan and collector of '60s garage compilations so getting to work on this was a real thrill for me. I'm gonna do the cover art for the other two volumes as well so you can look forward to seeing those right here as soon as I get 'em done. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Hamzig III: How The Gods Kill... Time

This completes the run of Hamzig strips to date. I'm working on a new one for the next issue of Roctober right now, and they will continue to appear in each issue of that excellent zine as long as editor Jake is willing to put up with me. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Hamzig II: I Love Lucifuge

By Crom, here are a couple more Hamzig strips whether you want 'em or not. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Hamzig

For the past couple of years I've been doing a li'l comic strip for Roctober chronicling the adventures of diminutive Goth rock warrior Hamzig. Here are the first 2 strips. I'll post the rest of 'em over the next couple of days. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Psycho!

I did this 7" sleeve for LA combo The Outsideinside way back in 1994. This was one of Lee Joseph's post-Yard Trauma bands and the 7" (a split with Popdefect) came out on Lee's very own Dionysus Records label. Both bands covered tunes by the immortal Sonics on this little slab o'wax. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Space Cowboys

The Space Cowboys were a rawk combo from Sweden back in the late '90s. This was the sleeve art for a 7" EP on Pure Vinyl Records outta Austria. 500 pink vinyl copies hit the streets back in 1999. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Hardcore Takes Over

I did this poster a few years back for a Winnipeg show by NYHC vets Agnostic Front. The skulls in the background are all the same drawing distorted in different ways on the computer. You can see the original undistorted drawing below. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Saucers Over Hooterville

This was the cover for issue #2 of El Beasto zine outta Spain. The guy who put out this mag has since branched out into doing a record label and tour booking operation, all under the El Beasto moniker. This drawing was kind of a sequel to another thing I had drawn for him a few years earlier when he was operating under the name De Plastico Guay. I'll post that one later. I thought the El Beasto logo I came up with was kinda cool but it covered up some nice detail in the art so I'm posting both the raw art and the final version with text added to give you the beast of both worlds. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Full Blast!

This was the proposed cover for a comic book idea I was working on last year. Hopefully I'll have time to finish the stories I started for this project someday. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Arena Rock

This was meant to be the sleeve for a compilation of Italian garage combos but the project seems to have fallen off the radar so I guess I may as well post it here. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!
